Security Settings
Enhance your account security with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and manage other security preferences.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account. When MFA is enabled, you'll need to provide both your password and a second form of verification (usually a code from an authenticator app) to log in. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access.
You can manage your MFA settings from the "Multi-Factor Authentication" tab within the Account Settings area.
Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication
If MFA is not yet active on your account, you will typically see an option to begin the setup process, often a button labeled "Setup" or "Enable MFA".
General Setup Steps:
- Initiate Setup: Click the "Setup" or similar button on the Multi-Factor Authentication tab.
- Scan QR Code: You will typically be presented with a QR code. Open an authenticator app on your smartphone (such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator) and scan this QR code.
- Enter Verification Code: After scanning the QR code, your authenticator app will display a time-sensitive 6-digit code. Enter this code into the field provided on the setup page to verify and link your app.
Follow the on-screen instructions carefully to complete the MFA setup.
