How to Send Emails to Your Customers
Keeping your supporters informed is crucial for successful fundraising. This guide explains how to send emails to your customers through the Raised Dashboard.
Important: Stripe Requirement
Note: The email feature is only available for fundraisers using Stripe as their payment method. If the "Send Emails" button is greyed out, check that your fundraiser is configured to use Stripe payments.
Accessing the Email Feature
- Log in to your Raised Dashboard
- Select the fundraiser you want to send emails for
- Click "View all orders"
- Select "Send Emails"
Selecting Recipients
You can choose from several recipient groups:
- All Orders: Send to everyone who has placed an order
- All Unpaid Orders: Send only to customers with pending payments
- All Orders from specific collection location: Target customers based on their chosen pickup location
- All Orders with specific payment method: Send to customers who used a particular payment method
The system will show you how many recipients are in your selected group before you send.
Composing Your Email
Using Email Parameters
You can personalize your emails using parameters. Insert these parameters in your email by surrounding them with curly braces:
Available Parameters:
{firstName}
: Customer's first name{lastName}
: Customer's last name{fundraiserName}
: Name of your fundraiser{fundraiserEndDate}
: End date of your fundraiser{fundraiserUrl}
: Link to your fundraiser page{orderValue}
: Amount of the customer's order{paymentMethod}
: Customer's chosen payment method{pickupLocation}
: Customer's selected pickup location
Example:
Dear {firstName},
Thank you for supporting {fundraiserName}! Your order value of {orderValue} will help us reach our goals.

Previewing and Sending

Edit Email: Write your message using the rich text editor. You can:
- Format text (bold, italic, underline)
- Add headings
- Create bullet points and numbered lists

Preview: Click the "Preview" tab to see how your email will look, including how parameters will be replaced with actual customer data

Send Emails: Once you're satisfied with your email, click "Send Emails" to distribute your message
Best Practices
- Test Parameters: Double-check that all parameters are correctly formatted with curly braces
- Preview First: Always preview your email before sending to ensure proper formatting
- Timing: Consider your recipients' time zones when sending bulk emails
Troubleshooting
If you can't send emails:
- Verify that your fundraiser is using Stripe as the payment method
- Check that you have at least one order in your selected recipient group
- Ensure all required fields in your email are completed
