Donation Receipts
Every donation made through Raised generates an automatic email receipt. Supporters don't need to ask for one, and you don't need to send anything manually.
What Supporters Receive
After donating, a supporter receives a confirmation email that includes:
- The amount they donated
- The name of the fundraiser and organisation
- The date of the donation
- Your thank-you message, if you have set one
Card payments are processed through Stripe, so supporters may also see a Stripe payment record on their card statement.
Recurring Donations
If a supporter has set up a monthly donation on an ongoing donation page, they receive a receipt for each payment, not just the first one. See Ongoing Donation Pages and Recurring Giving for how recurring giving works.
Receipts and Tax Credits
In New Zealand, donations of $5 or more to an approved donee organisation may qualify for a donation tax credit. Whether a donation qualifies depends on your organisation's donee status with Inland Revenue, not on Raised.
If your organisation has donee status, supporters can use their donation receipts when claiming. If you're not sure about your organisation's status, check with Inland Revenue or your accountant. Raised can't provide tax advice.
Finding a Receipt Again
If a supporter loses their receipt, ask them to check their spam or promotions folder first, since automatic emails sometimes land there. If it still can't be found, contact our support team with the donation details and we can help track it down.
