Age-Restricted Items in Your Catalogue

If your fundraiser includes products meant for adults (for example items that contain alcohol), you can mark them as age-restricted. Customers are then asked to confirm they're over 18 before they can view or buy those items.

This applies to product fundraisers that use a catalogue.

What It Does

Age restriction can be set at two levels:

• Whole catalogue: if the entire catalogue contains age-restricted products, customers see an 18+ confirmation before they can purchase, and must tick a confirmation at checkout.
• A single section: if only some products are age-restricted, you can restrict just that section. Its items stay hidden behind a "confirm you're 18+" panel until the customer confirms.

Turning It On

In the catalogue builder:

• To restrict the whole catalogue, turn on the Age Restricted option in the catalogue overview.
• To restrict a section, tick Age restricted (18+) on that section.

Both organisers building their own catalogue and wholesalers building shared catalogues can set these options.

What Your Customers See

• The customer is asked to confirm they are over 18. If they confirm, the items become visible and purchasable. If they say they're under 18, they're directed away.
• A confirmation is remembered for 24 hours on that browser or device, and a single confirmation covers the whole site for that visit, so a customer isn't asked repeatedly as they shop.
• Clearing browser data, switching to another device or browser, or returning after 24 hours will prompt the confirmation again.

Good to Know

This is a self-confirmation, not formal age verification. The customer confirms they're over 18, and there's no ID check or date-of-birth entry. The age threshold is fixed at 18.

Because it's a self-declaration, you remain responsible for following the laws that apply to selling age-restricted goods in your area, including anything required at the point of delivery or collection.
