Taking In-Person Payments with Tap to Pay
Tap to Pay lets you accept contactless card payments in person using just your iPhone, with no card reader or extra hardware needed. It's ideal for stalls, events, and any time you're selling or collecting in person.
Tap to Pay runs in the Raised mobile app and is processed securely through Stripe.
What You Need
- The Raised mobile app, signed in to an organisation account.
- An iPhone XS or later, running iOS 17.6 or newer.
- A connected Stripe account that can take card payments.
- A fundraiser with card payments enabled.
Tap to Pay is available on iPhone. Android support is on the way but not available yet. This is a mobile-only feature. It isn't part of the web dashboard.
Setting It Up
- Install the Raised app and sign in with your organisation account.
- Connect your Stripe account and complete Stripe's onboarding if you haven't already.
- Go to Settings → Payment Settings → Set Up Tap to Pay and follow the prompts. You'll set up a location and accept Apple's terms the first time. This is a one-off setup.
Taking a Payment
- From the app home screen, tap Create Order.
- Choose the fundraiser you're selling for.
- Add the items to the order.
- Tap Tap to Pay on iPhone.
- Ask the customer to hold their contactless card, phone, or watch to your iPhone.
- Once approved, you can offer the customer a receipt.
The payment is processed through Stripe just like an online card payment, and the order appears in your dashboard.
